I am using Pro Cab and am extremely pleased with it, My rail room is down the garden in the garage, I have a portable test track ( length of track on a 9 inch wide board with end stops) when I want to use the test track I just switch the layout to procab wiring off at a master switch, that is the wires to the DCC bus to the layout, not the 240 A/C, and clip a couple of wires from the little square procab unit to the test track rails, what I am wanting to do is be able to use the procab and test track up in the house to service and fit decoders into older locos, I am assuming that the main control unit is in the hand set and that all I need to buy is the square procab socket, using the handset I have already got. Am I correct and any idea what the socket is called please, if this is not a viable thing to do, does anyone have any other ideas?
Regards, George

Hi
AFAIK The 'PowerPro' system has all the DCC electronics housed inside the Power House base unit. It uses the 'ProCab' throttle which I understand is unlike the 'PowerCab' system which uses the 'PowerCab' throttle and has the DCC electronics housed in the actual throttle.

However, to be 100% sure I would, if I were you, contact John at Bromsgrove Models via an email and check with/ask him. John will give free and good honest advice about the products he sells. Bromsgrove Models web link (http://www.bromsgrovemodels.co.uk)
