I miss my layout I made and stupidly sold on, so I think I will have another go at this lark. I would love to do N and some layouts on here are an inspiration, but I think shunting layout will be easier in 00 plus it will be cheaper and that's important.....because I have a challenge for you all!

I would like to set myself the challenge of building a sceniced (basic), stocked and working shunting/shelf layout starting from nothing and for a budget of only 50.

Is it possible?

Do you want to join me and see if you can do it?:D

the cost of n gadge is no cheaper then oo these day's. you won't get a layout for 50.00. EVEN IF IT'S S/H . you got the baseboard. the track. point's our not that cheap. then a controller. that's just the start of things. plus stock. model railway's our not cheap these day's even s/h on ebay. but good luck you will need it. alf

you could have a 00 shunting layout with one turnout using a 20 hornby 0-4-0 thing and a 2 wagon from ebay :p:p and a 5 controller from ebay. the wood would be about 20. track would be about 15 and scenary about 30. total of 92  I failed the challenge!!!:p
