Brian, thank you for the warm welcome, much appreciated :)-well I don`t know about you,but it`s been a great day for me-finally finished ballasting 200 feet of track,no turnouts locked up,also managed to get the grass cut,the Lions won the rugby,Missisnick is still speaking to me-life is good......
Is a horrible sensation-you have spent hours carefully brushing the carefully mixed sand/dirt/coal dust mix into place and then comes the moment of truth:-will the mix of white glue, water and soap REALLY work.........looking good so far.....
Will keep you all posted.........

In N scale I have a wide variety of stock from 1835 (Germany's first train) to the end of steam (early 1970's) as well as a few models of restored locos. In Z I am concentrating on early (1839?) to 1940's (DRG). Mostly I am trying concentrate on the Laenderbahnen (pre WWI) and early DRG (1920's-30s). Most of my locos are on my website.
Best wishes,
Chris.

I've not much space to "run" my locos, so I'm soon to be re-building most of the scenery on my 8ft x 2ft 00 project.
My rolling stock & loco's so far consist of; (but will be reduced pending decisions)
2x Hornby class 31
1x Lima class 40
1x Lima class 31
1x Airfix class 31
2x Lima class 37
1x Bachmann 37
2x Lima class 47
2x Heljan class 47
1x Vi-Trains class 47
1x Hornby class 56
1x DC Kits class 108 DMU
Only 5 of these will retain their ability to "run" & the lima models will have the motors removed their & body's & chassis's modified to look in a "severely dilapidated / stored servicable" condition with a couple exposing their engines
(rather like a scene from vic berry's or booths scrapyard).
Its something different & unusual to model, & doesnt require the large space for "movement" of trains
Dave.

I just love diesels and am building up a complete stock of BR and modern era models mostly Bachmann. I don't know why but its Deltics that really get me going.
I'm going to work in a token Steam Preservation Club to give me an excuse to run the odd steamer but when I go looking to purchase I just buy another diesel - its too easy with online shopping.

Hi All.
Since I last posted, I have narrowed teh focus of what I run, just as I have placed the focus of my layout in a hilly part of northern Bavaria. As I stated earlier I am concentrating on early trains (c. 1890-1921) so my normal running stock comprises the following. Note that most of what I am running is complete sets with possibly additional rolling stock. (Click on the links to see the individual trains in a new tab/window.)
LDE 'Saxonia' (http://trains.manvell.org.uk/z-scale/motivepower/Set-Railex-LDE-Saxoniazug-Ep1.jpg) [B1 (0-4-2) n2 2T / OOo oo] set with 3 coaches and a wagon. (1839)
Royal train of Ludwig II of Bavaria (http://trains.manvell.org.uk/z-scale/coaches/Coachset-MK8770-KBAY-Ludwig_II_Zug-Ep1.jpg) hauled by a KBay Class B VI [1B (2-4-0) n2 3T / oOO ooo] (file:///D:/!Webpages-Trains/z-scale/motivepower/BVI_316_Tristan-KBAY-Ep1-1873-green-Railex-A.jpg) (c. 1973)
KBaySts Express (http://trains.manvell.org.uk/z-scale/motivepower/Set-MK8102-KBAY-D_Zug-Ep2.jpg) (usually run with 7-8 coaches) hauled by an Class S3/6 [2'C1' (4-6-2) h4v 2'2'T / ooOOOo oo-oo] (http://trains.manvell.org.uk/z-scale/motivepower/S3.6_3673-KBAY-Ep1-MK8102set-A.jpg)
KPEV Langen Schwalbacher Personenzug (http://trains.manvell.org.uk/z-scale/motivepower/Set-MK8119-KPEV-Langen_Schwalbacher_Personenzug-Ep2.jpg) (sorry about the invisible roofs) hauled by a Prussian class T18 [2'C2' (4-6-4) h2t (oOOOT] (http://trains.manvell.org.uk/z-scale/motivepower/T18_Stettin_8401-KPEV-Ep1-MK8119_1-A.jpg)
Out of period trains I run regularly are:
The DRG's Rheingold express (http://trains.manvell.org.uk/z-scale/motivepower/Set-MK81426-DRG-Rheingold-zug-Ep2.jpg) with an ex S3/6, BR18.4-5 [2'C1' h4v 2'2'T] (http://trains.manvell.org.uk/z-scale/motivepower/BR18_434-DRG-Ep2-MK81426.1-A.jpg) in charge
The Henschel-Wegmann-Zu (http://trains.manvell.org.uk/z-scale/motivepower/Set-MK81436-DRG-Henschel_Wegmann_Zug-Ep2.jpg)g hauled by the special streamlined BR61 [2'C2' (4-6-2) h2t, ooOOOooT] (http://trains.manvell.org.uk/z-scale/motivepower/BR61_001-DRG-Ep2-MK81436set-A.jpg)
a passenger train (http://trains.manvell.org.uk/z-scale/motivepower/Set-MK81430-DRG-Diesel_Personenzug-Ep2.jpg) hauled by the unique V120 [2'C2' Diesel-Pneumatic / ooOOOoo] (http://trains.manvell.org.uk/z-scale/motivepower/V120_001-DRG-Ep2-MK81430_1-A.jpg) locomotive.
For more information on the locos and sets, please go to my website at http://trains.manvell.org.uk/z-scale/index.htm.
Remember that these trains are about a third of the size of OO with a scale of 1:220; hence the lack of detail around the valve gear area. Enjoy.
With best wishes,
Chris.

It's not really that difficult. I only have one good eye with the other having a distorted view. It slows me up a bit but is still quite manageable.
Incidentally, the motors are no bigger than small sugar cube.
Chris.
