Chaps-

We have three R965 controllers and all show the same odd problem recently with various locos.

After a reasonably long run, they just grind to a halt. The direction switch has to be left in the centre position and then after a couple of minutes put back- and off they go again. What's going on??

Hi
Welcome to the forum.

Your problem is the overload cut-out trip is operating.

You need to ensure, and especially with the R965 units, that only one loco is running per controller.

Also if you have any cross-over points which link two controllers, the cross-over rails between the two points have insulated rail joiners fitted in place of the metal joiners (fishplates) to both cross-over rails.

You of course must not operate more than one R965 from one power supply unit (C990 etc)

Ultimately consider better controllers. The Hornby HM2000 is OK but better still are the Gaugemaster units
