Good morning everyone, I am a new member, I am semi retired and have decided to start building my layout, a hobby which I have never had time to do whilst working full time, although I have been collecting pieces over a period of time, now it is time to put it all together. My layout will be the one I have been planning "in my head", it will not consist of a main line as such, but will feature mainly a goods yard with a goods building and the main theme being...yes you guessed it...goods as opposed to passenger, although I intend to have a through line with an island platfrom station.
The town, which I have already started to layout and using Skaledale buildings, will also feature some of my collection of British Railways vehicles with one or two LMS mechanical horses "flying around".
I am only semi retired at the moment and still work 25 hours a week from 2pm till 7pm, so I still have not got all the time "in the world" to do the layout, but at least I have started and this forum seems a very interesting place to be for help and advice.

Cheers for now.

Pete.

Welcome to the forum Pete, sounds as though you are at the same stage as me with the modelling. With myself being many years from retirement yet, building my layout is going to take a few years.

Hi, yes mine will still take quite a long time, but no rush, I want to enjoy it and I do have the infliction of Arthiritis in my hands, but I intend to persevere as it is good therapy.
I will take some "pics" every now and then and put them on here, if I can fathom out how to do it when the time comes, "cos" I am no computer expert, but I will see soon.

Cheers,

Pete.

Thanks for the welcome, as soon as my layout is looking "something like", I will take some "pics" and let you see how it is coming along, but dont hold your breath because as I said I am no computer expert, so it might take me a few times to get it right.
