Clay Hills International is a fictional location, influenced by several real life locations, with a dash of artistic licence thrown in for good measure.

01 & 02 / 2018

It was a slow start to the year. However, relatively speaking, while not a lot on the top changed, quite a bit underneath advanced.

January Objectives Recap & Review:
Reacquire Percy. Been watching a few on the bay. Still not happy with the price mark ups.
Finish the foundations. Done!
Continue laying track on the lower level. 2 complete sidings laid down, 6 to go.
Continue the bridge build. This is once again, taking steps forward.

I'm really pleased that I completed the support structure for the top level. I'm satisfied that it'll bear the required weight. I'm also really pleased that the first two sidings are done. I had been hesitant about working on these, because of the wiring issues, but now that I've started and got stuck in, it's turning out to be fairly easy going.

February Objectives:
Reacquire a new, new Percy.
Continue laying track on the lower level.
Continue the bridge build.
Extend the main runs up to the control panel.

1) Track Completed. Platform, scenery & scenic divide being planned.
2) Marked out & wired, just track to lay
3) Completed.
4) Completed.
5) Completed.
6) Completed.
7) Completed.
8) Still only partially marked out.

Siding 2 should only take a couple of evenings to complete. Siding 8 is a bit more complicated, however, I am confident that I can complete all the siding work by the weekend.

Which means, with a weekend spent on the bridge, I reckon, I can be looking at getting the baseboards in place and access routes cut, before the end of the month! Exciting times!

I managed to get all the sidings completed over the weekend! Number 8 was a little problematic as expected, but it was nothing that couldn't be dealt with.

I also managed to get the top boards in place. The Hutt Hut is seeming a little emptier now that the two boards are in place.

I made a start on the bridge again. The end sections are more difficult than the centre towers. I can't build an easy jig for it, so it's back to sketchy work. However I did find a load of brick embossed plastic sheeting at a local model store. So, that'll hide my sins quite nicely.
