October Objectives Recap & Review:
Continue laying more track: In particular the lower level. More track got laid.
Just not in the preferential lower section.

Get the initial control panel into place and working. Done! A really good start on the panel has been achieved. Now to build around it.
Fix Percy properly, or have the parts on order at least. Yeah... oops.
Make a start on foundations of the top layer. I have the plans for the foundations forming in...

Thoughts on Weathering

An 00 GWR layout I saw at an exhibition recently was beautifully executed. Set in pre-nationalisation days it certainly caught the atmosphere of the old branch lines and, as the owner/operator pointed out, everything was weathered to a certain extent, trains and structures alike. He went on to say that it was his first layout and I complimented him on quite an achievement. He looked as though he was in his mid-thirties, so could have no memory of what he set out to model, but said that the older...

Julie's Studio to become The Train Shed

Layout size - 12ft x 6 ft (access to both long sides and one short side).

Baseboard 1/2 plywood with 2"x 1" battens and 3" x 2" adjustable legs.

Layout design software - AnyRail 6

Gauge to be used - OO

Model Railway Controller - Gaugemaster DCC02

Track - Peco

Status as at 26/10/2017 - Clearing out art stuff from Studio.

September / October 2017

September recap:
A busy month on the layout which is strange just recently. There has been lots of things going on.

As mentioned previously, I temporarily linked up the two inclines, giving a much longer length of track to play with. Seeing the trains whizz down one side and up the other, has really invigorated me and got the train juices flowing. So this month has been seen a lot of progress and gotten me enthused.

Happenings

I should really sort out a proper format this, rather than the current waffle... I'll put it on the list of things to do.

So a quick update. In the interests of getting more length of track to play with in place, I linked up the two inclines across the bottom level. So currently, there is ~13m of double track to play with.

I am currently looking at installing the initial 180 degree corners, to bring the track back up the length of the room. I started the first one...
