Clay Hills International is a fictional location, influenced by several real life locations, with a dash of artistic licence thrown in for good measure.

So... Progress...

The ceiling is nearly complete! Which means my mind has switched over to planning the various stages of the layout build.

However I am already coming up against issues which I thought I had licked, and it turns out that I have in fact, not worked out how to defeat them yet.

My original plan consisted of using kitchen cabinet carcasses to form a solid base for the layout. Which is fine: Easy to build, easy to level and job's a good un. However, I had not accounted for the floor in the Hut not being level, to the point that the cabinet legs don't have a great enough variance in height available for me to do the job, straight on their out of the box legs.

So the up shot is that I am actually going to have to get handy with the tools and actually partially construct a frame to support the layout.

Had you said this too me, some months ago, I would have cringed at the thought, however, now after several months of work with the tools and I am actually quite looking forward to the challenge.

I promise I will actually be building the layout in the next week or so!
