Clay Hills International is a fictional location, influenced by several real life locations, with a dash of artistic licence thrown in for good measure.

I've been through a bit of an enthusiasm rut regarding the railway.

The problem was the bridge was taking much longer than I thought. I was also not really making any headway with the bottle neck issue at the control panel. Mainly because I wasn't really approaching it from the correct thought process angle. There was also some personal issues I had to get through and as such, progress stagnated. If you missed me, I'm sorry I didn't update here to keep you informed. It was one of those things where the last thing you want to do, is talk about stuff, yet the thing that helps the most, is talking about that stuff. A brief visit from my FiL, put me half back on the rails. His enthusiasm regarding the project, rallied my own and I made a decision to just get track down and laid, so that I can run trains around the loop and that'll put my head back into gear. I'm nearly to that point currently. There's a complete loop of track down and in position. I have some wiring to complete and I'll be good to go!

So where were we?

Previous Objectives Recap:
  • Reacquire a new, new Percy. Still not happened. I should really sort this. Bad Ginger. Bad.
  • Get the access system worked out and started on. Now that I know the track positions, I intend to get this sorted ASAP
  • Continue the bridge build. Complete one tower. The bridge kitbash has continued, but slowly. I intend to wor on it, in situ
  • Get the station tracks positions finalised. Done! Track for one line and station approach is down. The other is drawn onto the board, awaiting track

June Objectives:
  • Finish wiring in the outer loop.
  • Complete the inner loop
  • Film a new video of the completed track.
  • Make a start on the first first scenery part - The Post Office / Loading shed.

I finished the wiring mid morning on Sunday, and messed around with the camera, early in the afternoon. A good days work I feel!

So progress this week on the actual rails has been nonexistent. This has been because I ran out of wire for the droppers. My usual supplier of rail and hobby bits didn't have any in stock so, it's been placed on order. Still waiting for the phone call to say it has arrived and that I can go to pick it up.

The FiL visited very briefly in mid May. As outlined above he's really the igniting force force behind this current burst of enthusiasm. He brought with him an Auhagen model post office, which I have been slowly building, modifying over the last month. With the lack of wiring that build process has been accelerated somewhat.

I have a new album for documenting scenery and terrain. Album link.

Again no progress on the rails.

I have been thinking about the way I've laid the rails and comparing what I have achieved to a recent video I watched on YouTube, where a gentleman is rebuilding his railway and showed how he was doing his track laying. I am considering taking up my track to relay it, in a similar fashion...
