Get a wagon and put red tape on one side and black on the other side. Put the wagon on the track. Now move the wagon around the layout. The colour on the side will tell which colour dropper to use....

They said it worked fine on their track and there were no other wheels. Maybe it is my track but this is loco 101 and all the others are fine and none have 0.5mm flanges.

Right so the latest is: I bought a set of Hornby 4-6-0 County tender wheels. Same diameter as the Heljan versions but larger flanges. Drilled them out so they would fit the Heljan axles. Loco now...

You donít use a hammer on track pins. Push them in with the end of some pliers or similar. Gaugemaster make the best pins, flat heads and very sharp.
