Progress has been slow over the last month or so. The back scene is now on at last, Because I rather stupidly didn't put it on first, so had to work around certain bits I had all ready fitted. The only ones that where adaptable to fit the layout where the Peco ones which are very dated and crude but as you can't see much of them it dosan't look to bad. Some more houses have been bought and partially built to see how they fit into the street and a lot of work still needs to be done on the station canopy and rest of the layout. Hopefully next month I shall get my new green Farish 4 CEP class 411 4 Car EMU to spur me on a bit. http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/...20SEA/0034.jpg

looking good brian. i have got a few of those old peco back scene's under the layout i'm still building. think i will just download some off the net for free . or use the sky only from the old peco one's. what part of the southern is your layout ?. are you going to do the 3rd rail for those EMU'S ?. it's not easy doing it for OO let alone for N .

Hi Brian, I like your layout, and am interested to know how you built the wall separating the houses from the tracks. How High did you make it in scale 10ft. You have blended your back scenes in well, with the roads running into them and away.

Albert.

Hi southern, It's just going to be a small fictitious terminus on the south coast. third rail has already been installed, I did it last year when I decided to get the 4CEP. I didn't use the sky sheets I painted the sky and sea onto the backboard then cut around the skyline of the Peco sheets cutting off the odd chimney and roof so as not to make the skyline repetitive and then pasted that on to the backboard.

Albert, The wall is made from thick cardboard faced with Metcalf brick paper with balsa wood for the capping. The height is about 9' 6" above ballast. The road was blended in by cutting a piece of the same grade W/D sheet to shape and gluing to backboard.

Regards Brian.

The new 4 CEP arrived today, and I must say I'm impressed with it runs very smooth and quiet
