Default Treasure trove of 'historic' books

I've chosen the immediate years post nationalisation for my layout, on the main Euston to Glasgow line.
I've now amassed some great books. Clive Carter's LMS/LMR Train Formations, David Jenkinson's Historic Carriage Drawings among them.
Not Christmas pressies, but arrived yesterday are the best of the lot.
Cecil J Allen's The Locomotive Exchanges and John Adams and Patrick Whitehouse's British Rail Scrapbook 1948.
And they were as cheap as chips back then, too.
This is the information I've craved. And more.

Mountain Goat is an unknown quantity at this point

Some of my best books are old ones. One of my favourites was printed in 1948 about 00 gauge scratch building.
