The new railcar makes its debut.

Runs really well, a bit fiddly getting the body off as four handrails have to be removed and replaced but the decoder has been installed along with a few passengers and a driver.

I bet the driver is glad he's driving a railcar and not a lorry with similar wheel arrangement - the driver must be about 6-8ft (scale) in front of the wheels - imagine doing a left-hand turn, you'd be almost past the turning before you started turning the wheel. Was there a reason for this wheel arrangement? BB

PP will be along later to explain.

I have to admit itís a strange looking beast, but it adds something different to the layout.

Short wheelbase and cheap to build. An early Pacer.

Fixed axles have a maximum separation in order to be able to negotiate the shallower radius curves and especially points otherwise bogies are needed as in Bo-Bo arrangements........HB
