Default Patriot Sound?

I'm looking to install sound into my Hornby R3017 patriot loco. I know the decoder fits into the engine compartment but has anybody installed one already and any tips?

What would be the best priced decoder to use and what size speaker would fit and where to put it.

Try pulling the service sheet (there are several versions) to see what looks as if it would go where. There may already be a speaker mount in the tender and its easy to move the decoder socket over there as well if required.

Edit try ss307 which covers your model. Room in the tender for a speaker or a small cube speaker may sit on the loco chassis ahead of the decoder socket.
Halton Brat, running Hornby 00 via Elite, Select Walkabout and eLink DCC using Railmaster Pro and occasionally Rocrail, β-tester.
