Default Points power supply & CDU

I am about to start laying track and wiring. I am having an independent power supply for points using levers to change them. Any thoughts, please, on the best place to purchase the power supply and CDU?

Thanks.

You need ideally a 16 volt AC power supply with about 800 milliamp to 1.0 Amp output this will charge the CDU in a reasonably quick time.
The Hornby C990 PSU offers this and Gaugemaster used to sell a combined PSU and CDU kit. Whether this is still available I have no idea?
You can of course use the AC 16 volt uncontrolled output on an old train controller if available.

As for the CDU Gaugemaster are fine as too are BlockSignalling ones - eBay is a good source. Example.. Link to CDU
Normally only one CDU is needed for the whole layout.

Talking

I use a Gaugemaster combined PSU and CDU which they marketed under their ref. GMC -MCDU. The power supply is a mains plug-in transformer and the CDU is a separate cased item. Noted, however, that the Gaugemaster website states "No longer available from supplier" and "Sold out".
Other model outlets may still have units if you wish to go down the "googling" road. Sorry no experience of other units

Thank you for all of this. Are you gentlemen saying it's all in one unit including the points change levers/switches?
