Default Hornby R197 75 tom Breakdown Crane

Does anyone know the height of the above model? I have been told that it is about three inches. If this is so it will not go through my tunnels which are made by Peco or under my Ratio platform mounted footbridge. I successfully negotiate these with all my coaches, locos etc.

It is 2 3/8 inches above ground level (agl), or 2 1/8 inches above the top of the rails, with the removable chimney removed.

I have one somewhere. The height with the chimney in the down position is about the same as a standard 00 gauge loco or coach.

I have one on my layout at present and measured it. The dimensions are as I stated.

Thanks for the responses. I think I will take the plunge and obtain one. I had been awaiting the release of the Bachmann Ransomes and Rapier crane but when I saw the price increase I quickly changed my mind.

And can you imagine the outcry if it was a OO Bachmann model at that price.

I like the way they used the word "Only" in the advert!
