Its interesting the way companies treated their retiries years ago, not so much now. I retired 11 years ago this week. I got a pair of very nice crystal wine glasses from my peers but sweet FA from the company themselves despite being the largest computer services and hardware company in the world!

Nice stuff to own Brian. You are very lucky.

I retired 12 years ago. Got a Bachmann 9F and a large ish book token from my colleagues, and then the management took me and SWMBO out for dinner and gave be a rather nice carriage clock.

It seems the bigger the company, the less they care about their employees. My daughter works for a small family firm of builders and the whole staff get regular treats from the boss. She went to a go-cart evening a couple of weeks ago.
