Default How to dismantle Triang Hornby r26/27 Coaches

I have two R26 Triang /Hornby coaches in very good condition . I wish to remove the bodies to fit lights. The body appears to be secured with 2 screws but there removal still does not allow the body to come off. I don't want to force anything is there a catch to body removal.

Hello long time since work on one of those but not much to them Remove 2 long brass screws and drop them out. Now this should allow you to bend up the roof just a little and the roof ends should unclip from the end of body. Once inside you can remove the seats and window glaze. Glazing may well need replacing. You can just cut strips and renew. I stick it in with tags of double sided tape.
Be careful when putting back the brass screws which screw into tapped sockets underside of roof as these are easily stripped. There are several fixes one is to find a long self tapping screw of correct size and cut to length.

Thank you john I failed to find a suitable sledge hammer so used your method.
Roofs came off no trouble so lights will now be fitted.
Any ideas where seats can be obtained to fit these coaches?

Ebay often have them, might need to be adapted. There is also a company that makes downloadable seats that you print and fold.

Or these. https://railsofsheffield.com/product...artment-coach-
