I find applying wood preserver by brush very therapeutic.

Your post made me smile.
We had just moved into a house is South Wales and had shed delivered and errected in the garden. I decided to give it a coat of nice green preserver.
Lucky I thought Lidl's had just send leaflet around and guess what an airless spray gun was on special that week. So shot down to lidl and got on.
It was a nice warm day. I donned pair of overalls, gloves, balaclava.
Looker ready to rob a Bank. Started Spraying the stuff and it was finished in no time at all. Looked lovely. But So were the lawns, fence, pathways, and me. And most of the apple tree.
Good job the wind was not blowing towards next-door but the sheep in field other side were still white. So that was ok.
