Checked out Railway Scenics website after reading the opening post. Had the wire in the size and colour I wanted for a new accessory bus so I've given them a try.

Several months ago I preordered a Tom Petty double album from Amazon. It was priced at 12-98. Friday I got an email to say it had been dispatched and I had been charged 11-20 because the price had dropped. I guessed it would.

I received the album yesterday and a couple of hours later got another email from Amazon saying they were crediting my bank account with 1-11 because while the album was on its way to me the price had dropped again.

Very impressed.
WTD has ruined/improved my evening/morning.

Tom Petty on the stereo now. Good stuff.

Teedoubleudee, you've got it right. These large companies, BT being merely one example teach their call centre staff all they need to know about selling the product. Brilliant. But if you deviate from their script with what you want, especially if it's a complaint, then they are stuck. They can only either quote from their script, which will be irrelevant, or lie. The only other choice they have is to cut you off or put you on hold forever until you ring off. Which they do because you don't know their name, or probably just a first name, so there's no comeback.
