That is what I am hoping for, not enough room to run make anything larger.

All best laid plans etc etc.
I was going to use these Ratio point switches but found that the point slides were too soft so as tension was put to the rod it just flexed the tie.
So have ordered some solenoid PMs and a new point to replace the damaged one.

I was 50/50 on powercab or Prodigy express, both were out of stock last week and I based my decision on which one was available first.
Got an email this morning to say Powercab arrived so bullet bit and order placed with a couple of Hattons decoders.
Whilst waiting for the bits on order I have made a start on the Ratio station building, trouble is boss asks why if I have so much spare time the kitchen is still waiting for a fresh coat of paint.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with the PowerCab.

Started to fit the PMs a couple of weeks ago and realised the reason I wanted the cord and spring levers was to allow the point to be close to the edge support of the baseboard, so had to change the first point on the left with curved and work a slight curve on the right end to allow room for the solenoid. I could have moved the whole track further forward but that would have defeated the object of have the platform and station building on the fixed shelf at the back. Finally got it sorted and all pinned down.

On a brighter note Powercab went in well and decoders fitted to a couple of terriers. Both appear fine and work well.

Been up in the loft and retrieved the box of wagons I made from kits about 25 years ago. they will all need a bit of tidying up which will keep me busy for a while.

After some trial runs I'm suffering with a few stall places, mainly in the region of points.
As I was using insulfrog points from an old layout I was not really suprised so will be ordering electrofrog so progress can be made.

The good news is the playability of the layout is proven and hopefully can move forward in the new year.

The last two weeks have been a hive of activity, electrofrog replacing insulfrog including the necessary adaptation and soldering to wire in Gaugemaster auto frog polarity switches. Finally finished everything last night including pinning down the track.

Checked everything over this morning, plugged in PowerCab and dead short

Slowly checked everything below the board to make sure I had soldered the right dropper to the right bus then looked above the board to make sure no odd wire or track pin on the rails. Finally noticed on the last set of points I had fitted metal rail joiners to the frog Note to self when tired stop!

Corrected error and all now runs as well as I expected.
