Suggest you provided a link to it as Airfix never made a 4-6-2

Presumably this one

http://www.ebay.es/itm/V16-H0-DC-AHM...YAAOSwk99akbqz

if anyone else can I identify it. I wonder if it came as a completely broken down / build it yourself model and that has been interpreted as being Airfix like

I am not aware that Airfix (The company which used to sell model railways in the late 1970's to early 1980's and also make plastic aeroplane kits etc) made one of those. They made plastic kits of locos which later came under the Dapol brand name, and they sold a few complete RTR locos including a USA 4-4-0 loco called "Jupitor". Apart from this, their locos were of UK prototypes as far as I know, though I maybe wrong.

But not in any recognisable Airfix logo manner - think its a descriptive use (properly not in English) rather than being related to the firm in question. A quick google shows it to made by Rivarossi

I just looked it up. It was connected to the Airfix 1:72 figures. AHM imported them and sold them as AHM Airfix Minimen. They made there own products connected to the Airfix ones. Take a look.

Hi all.
The loco does look like a Rivarossi which were sold through AHM.
I have some AHM coaches where the boxes are covered in "adverts" for their products !
Minitanks (by Roco) , Minimen(by Airfix), Minicars (by ?) track and buildings. The coaches are by Rivarossi.
One edge shows a few their locos but the other side and back of the box is covered in different products so I can see where the confusion occurred.
Regards, Colin
