Remove any DC items or make them suitable for DCC. i.e.any plug-in power clips or power track sections that were used for DC. Here you need to remove their internal capacitor.

Remove all DC only locos. Plug PowerCab into rails and place a DCC fitted loco on track. Turn on mains power to system, select loco number and play!
Note; new locos or decoders are set to address number 3.
