Run one of your pictures through "Paint.net".....It would be better with the original but in the case of pictures bigger is better....hope you don't mind...

Not much progress of late due to a dose of man flu and a new work project in Germany but I managed a couple of hours tonight....

Profile framework is up after a lot of cutting and leveling. This included some innovative use of a broom and some scrap timbre. It's difficult working both sides of a wall on your own!

I also painted my test piece for the back scene. One half is Dulux "Nordic Sky" and the other is Colours (B&Q) "Sky". Once the clouds are painted I'll decide which one I like best; for now the Dulux one is looking too dark for me...

Almost ready for the baseboard and start laying out some track. Now I am at this stage I can work out where the cutouts in the wall should be and build the shelf on the hidden side to line up with them.

Thanks for looking.
Paul

Those metal pieces look interesting. They look rather like this bed for my lathe except my lathe system has shallower slots.
Is also interesting to see a high level layout under construction.

Hi MG. I know it as “Bosch profile”. We use it a lot on systems at work for making up all kinds of framework and mounting sensors. They even build machines and enclosures from it. It probably wouldn’t be anyone’s first choice as it’s nit cheap but I’m very lucky to have access to off cuts as it’s rare that we’d ever use it in short lengths. It comes in all kinds of depths and thicknesses; I’m using 45mm x 45mm with slots for M8 “t bolts” which just happens to be what we had on site.

Thanks. It’s certainly interesting planning it. I just hope I can make a decent job of it.

The efficient use of space is quite clever.

As I have now started on the layout proper I have started a layout thread here; http://www.modelrailwayforum.co.uk/s...966#post142966
