Wow! That flange is almost non existent! Are the other wheels the same? In any case, I would try swapping them round, putting the current front pair of wheels in the centre, where they can hopefully do no harm

Loco is the same. I have swapped them but still happens. Going to change the wheels and then if required relay the curves.

Right so the latest is: I bought a set of Hornby 4-6-0 County tender wheels. Same diameter as the Heljan versions but larger flanges. Drilled them out so they would fit the Heljan axles. Loco now travels round both 3rd and 4th rad beautifully. Result.

They said it worked fine on their track and there were no other wheels. Maybe it is my track but this is loco 101 and all the others are fine and none have 0.5mm flanges.

It is BB. Not sure they need to make wheels so fine scale.
