Page showing extracts of a AHM catalogue - http://ho-scaletrains.com/ahm-green-flyer/ with the figures by Airfix and a different loco by Rivarossi shown. The loco the subject of this thread is definitely was not a Airfix model but Rivarossi as noted above ; it is well recorded the Airfix ready to run railway models were those which were branded as the Airfix Railway System later Great Model Railways, which then passed to Mainline, then Dapol then Hornby.

Yes I think we know the loco isnít Airfix as they only made British outline, but they obviously marketed it with the Airfix name as they wanted it to be used with the Airfix products they were also selling. Strange idea but I guess they had their reasons. Perhaps it was part of the deal that the Airfix name would have to be included.
