Default Is there a correct positive side?

OK is there a correct/standard polarity for locos?

By which I mean is the positive side always the one with the pickup when its going forward?

Presumably if your magnet is in the wrong way on it'll go backwards?

I guess it doesn't matter as long as all of your locos are the same?

Most locos have a pickup both sides. It doesn’t matter just as long as they all go the same way.

Flashbang will become famous soon enough

For a DC loco, the recommended standard is when looking down on a steam outline loco with the chimney towards the right, the right hand sides wheels/rail should receive a positive to enable forward movement. Of course its a bit harder to determine with diesel outline locos!
