How do you know its going the wrong way? Its a diesel, which is the front end?

To reverse motor rotation swap around the magnet by 180 degree and the two pole pieces too if necessary.

Well if it has 2 wires then that service sheet is not correct one as the sheet does not show any wires. I will see if I can find another sheet.

Try checking out service sheet 92 It shows wires from rear bogie.

opened it up today everything looks ok insulation sleeve in place will try stripping it down and reversing the magnet
suspect i will be left with a tray of bits and me trying to remember where they went

I dont have one of these diesels to have a look and check for you.
Sorry I dont do Diesels. All mine stuff is steam so not got any bogie drives to look at.
