It runs nice and smooth, the coaches are very lightweight,
no detail inside, but the engine has the power to pull them, looks like
there are pickups on one wheel set of the tender, and looks like both
sets of wheels on the engine.

A bag of matchsticks for £1 from Hobbycraft, drill the holes then fine florist wire ,
that the method I'm using.

Everything is half price on line and in store.
The set I got is R1234, I think it's still a bargain even if it's not DCC fitted.

Hi happy new year to you all. If you have a Hawkins Bazaar near you, they have Harry Potter Hogwarts Express train sets for £99.50. The box says that the locomotive is DCC fitted with TTS sound, not bad considering you get a locomotive, 2 coaches an oval of track with siding and a controller. Must b...

Thanks for that information, I have managed to get some magnetic tape that I can fix to the bottom of the giraffe car, will get some short bits of metal to fix between the rails to attract the magnet. I am hoping to fit bits so that the giraffe will duck under my station footbridge and the entrance ...

Managed to get the roof off,can now see how to make things work,
just need to find a small spring.

The leaver underneath moves freely, if pushed up the giraffe will pop out. Just need some advice on how to open the box car so that I can get a spring fitted to keep the giraffe up,then I can fix a magnet underneath, then fit something to the track to attract the magnet that should then pull down an...
