Re: UK or Bust 2020

He's only in Britain for 9 days! That list will take considerably longer and highlights the problem. Maybe a 6 month stay would do the tour! Ah! didn't see the 5th post. In that case book another few weeks. Nine days will turn into only seven/eight with the time diff/jet lag. & imo, it...

Re: UK or Bust 2020

A real catch 22 getting around the UK with three of you without a car, as you will miss a lot of fantastic places. A lot of the UK is not bike friendly unless your in the towns/areas that are built for it. I personally would head for the main areas you would like to visit by train & then decide what...

Re: North Wales

We have had a few biking breaks through Wales & there are some fantastic roads & scenery. Plus, every time bar one we have been real lucky with the weather. There are only two main A roads through wales that are great for touring, but, it's the coast road that has parts that would match many souther...

Re: Change of car? Maybe.

Had new cars/vans most of my working life as i have mostly worked for myself & hoped to get reliability. But when i stopped work i had a new car for a while but always fancied an older x type jag, so i got one, would have preferred an S type, but out of my price band. Had it for about 3 years now wi...

Re: How can I improve my shed security?

Some good security lighting worked via PIR's. Also fit two external dummy alarm bell boxes, one on house & one on shed/garage. It's a good cheap deterrent, especially if they are fitted with small flashing a led. A bugler will always avoid somewhere that looks a problem.

Re: Chinese Roads!

Must admit we were looking to drive to Montpellier near the French/Spanish boarders later in the year & it would involve the Millau Viaduct & that is a high one. Depends what route is taken & how brave we are feeling. lol

Re: LED Striplights

I would look at changing the tube 1st as florys can lose up to 40% of their light output over 4-5 years. We had a regular contract to change 3 local library's every 4 years & using a light meter we get a good 30% on average increase on light levels. The staff would notice straight away the quality. ...

Re: Chinese Roads!

As normal, we are behind with so many things in the UK & always ends up costing so much more. Look at Brexit, we could of quite likely built half the HS2 with what's been wasted in the last 3 years on this mess up. And the London cross rail link is an absolute joke. I have a few friends on LT & DLR ...
