Re: My new layout

Nice video Brian.........your new layout has fairly come along quickly and the running action of the train looked super smooth, which is something I am currently trying to improve on my layout.

Thanks for sharing - cheers Richard.

Re: Montgreenan

Having felt a bit like Dr Beeching by ripping up track, the rework of the west end approach to Montgreenan station is well underway and so there is absolutely no going back now, as the pictures show.........it is testimony to my ballasting that this has been a pig of a job to do and there have been ...

Re: Your latest acquisition

Hi, As I build up stock for the Diesel Hydraulic era on my Montgreenan layout ( to be alternated with the BR Blue era), I have treated myself to a few wagons that I have been tracking for a while and for which I believe I have picked up some nice little bargains...... a) 8-off Bachmann China Clay wa...

Re: Wykeham - Somewhere in the south!

Barry, As both banker and unpaid groom to my daughters two horses I can confirm that the trough will be thoroughly “manky” and the ground around it perpetually muddy......The area around any gate or feeding area will also be well trodden and muddy. I sometime lie awake at night dreaming about the hu...

Re: Wykeham - Somewhere in the south!

Barry,

Lovely photos that look so prototypical and a fine collection of steam locos....... almost made me consider if I should introduce steam to Montgreenan, but only almost - LOL

Cheers - Richard

Re: Neptune Street

For a first attempt your ballasting looks very good Carl, and certainly much better than my first go........ don’t stress the weathering too much - it is more difficult than it looks to find the balance, and I have to really work hard not to make everything look too manicured. I am starting to learn...

Re: Montgreenan

Excellent modelling and photos. Love the cottage scene. What did you use for the red foliage? The red foliage ( and in fact most of the foliage) is from Tajima miniatures ( www. Tajimal1) and is the Tall Flowers Lupins etc (TM40) in Scarlet colour....... really impressed with the service and qualit...
