Re: G F tender locos

I've used thin wire soldered on both sides at convenient points to bridge the gap between tender and loco on a couple of mine.
The same solution used on Dapol tender locos.

Just checked mine and AOK.

However the 'new improved' pile of excrement that is the site is useless. Hey Ho! Rails will be pleased.

Re: England at war

Thanks Platelayer. A lovely show. It also took me back to my boyhood in the 1950s. So much has changed since the war and the 1950s were close enough to the war for little to have changed between the war and the 50s. I suppose the war is only just fading from living memory and the 1950s are nearly a ...

A very bad loss to the hobby. I do hope the owner reads this thread, as I want him to know how much I appreciated his service over the years.

Re: Yuck banner colour

Arghh!!!!
Yes, I too never go there, using new posts all of the time. I agree the colour combination isn't good.I'm blue/green deficient, being unable to distinguish the two in all but glaring light. The much more common red/green issue would have issues.

Re: Can I Sleep at Grandma's Tonight

Yes..... Took me back well over 60 yrs.

Grandma's house is commemorated in the name of one of the stations on my layout.

Sunnisyde, where Grandad is in the garden and Grandma is baking.......What I'd give for one more day there.
