Hello all
I am having a break from lighting at the moment, just the Goods and Loco yards to finish.
I have made a start on my next Linka project, this is a typical example of a 1930's Metro land Ideal Home. These houses are everywhere in the outer suburbs of London they were constructed as the Tube network expanded. As yet I don't know if this building will make it to Little Weldon or on to my proposed Tram plank I now have the Plank but as yet it is not fixed to the wall.
The major element on the facades of these homes is the two storey Bay Window. I have assembled one out of reworked Scalecast Bay Window castings. I have decided to use this as a master and make a new mould so that I can cast as many as I like, a possible Terrace certainly a pair as most of these homes are Semi Detatched. I shall include photo's of this once the Latex has cured.
Another Ebay auction win arrived yesterday. The Airfix Windmill a vintage kit from the eighties, this was much cheaper than the modern Dapol version I'm looking forward to building this. Just seen another job re-fixing part of the backscene.

Looking at the last photo, I like the way that you have covered the corner of the room with a cunningly placed church. And of course, the Spitfire. ☺

Hello all
I'm glad you like the Superquick church on the corner. It was one of the first buildings I constructed and it was allways intended for that particular location. The only thing I'm not particularly happy with is the printed paper windows. I shall have to investigate some stained glass type acetates. I've just found an early photo which shows the layout before any ground cover.
Little Weldon is just about to start celebrating its second birthday, hmm two years ago room clearing and baseboard making where has that time gone.

It is actually quick progress. I find I get seasons where I do nothing but dream up ideas, and then I will get a modelling spree where I do a lot... Unfortunately the daydreaming seasons do tend to be long.
But there again, without daydreaming I would do no modelling as I would have no ideas or plans to follow.

Hello all.
Little Weldon is now celebrating is second birthday. To mark this I have stopped modelling at the moment, and started to run a few trains. Even some by "moonlight" with Little Weldons lights on. I tried to take a few piccies but not very successfully. I shall have to get my Camera out instead. I have some plans for the development of the layout. I shall be moving the unsuccessful smoke unit out of the Castles Watchtower and placing it in the Sand drier smoke rising up through the chimney of this building should look interesting. Install lighting in both the Goods and the Loco yards. For the Goods yard I have an Ancorton 3mm MDF Laser cut crane kit. I have also mocked up a short section of Brick walling to create the enclosed yard I originally thought of more modified Linka. I have been trying to find a suitable motor for the Airfix windmill something that will be nice and slow. I am also thinking that Little Weldon station will lose its Goods shed and acquire a Cattle Dock instead. All of that should keep me occupied for a while.
Two of the better "Moonlight" shots.

I love those really deep black shadows. It makes a very atmospheric effect. 👍
